Artist`s statement

“My recent film/video works have influence and relation to the different uses of photography. I’m interested in what photographs offer as in the form of ‘apperances’. During the process of working, I examine this ‘appearance’ as in how my impression; the ephemeral experience changes into an interpretation; image/object.

The visual research that I practice includes sociological issues that deal with disguise, uniformity and identity. Primarily, my focus is on the theme of `otherness´. I use video as a tool to investigate how individuals relate to various social concerns and conventions. I usually work process-based with non-actors, improvising scenes and situations. Referring to the genre of narrative film, I search for alternative viewpoints and hover between fiction and documentation. As a result, my work often become ‘fractured narrative’.”
